Yardco Rocks

This past March, Chris Ebersold, one of the owners of Yardco Rock & Stone, journeyed to China to attend Xiamen Stone Fair 2011.

Stone exporting is the traditional and most important industry in Xiamen, and this is a very large industry event. Exhibitors included hundreds of companies from all corners of the globe, and represented quarries, finishers, tool-makers, accessory-makers, and so on.

As always, on these buying trips, we focus on quality and variety. This is how Yardco distinguishes itself as the one of the best stone yards for hardscape materials in South Florida! We visited with some of our established suppliers, and found a few new suppliers of great interest, some of whose products we already started carrying.

Aside from the trade show in Xiamen, we spent the rest of our two weeks travelling around Xiamen and also to Nanjing to visit quarries, factories, and manufacturing/finishing facilities, in order to observe their production process and identify products to feature in our stone yard. We also traveled to Inner Mongolia to tour the factory that produces the natural stone that Yardco uses for Pondless Water Features, and to Fuzhou to see the great variety of Hand Carved Japanese style Granite Lanterns that they produce.
